The IT Training Programme aims to help our clients by:
- providing advice on the range of available assistive devices
- customizing in-built accessibility settings in smartphones and laptops based on individual needs of the clients
- conducting one-on-one training for visually impaired clients on how to use basic in-built accessibility features in smartphones and laptops
- conducting small group workshops or courses on different apps and software for visually impaired clients who are already familiar with the usage of the basic accessibility functions on smartphones and laptops
The following topics have been offered to our clients:
- Computers running on Windows and Mac OS
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Email applications
- Internet, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram
- Travel apps
- Seeing AI, Be My Eyes
- Digital banking
- Gen AI
This programme is supported by volunteers (sighted and visually impaired) who help in technical troubleshooting, training of clients and other general areas of assistance.
