SAVH provides various skills training courses to prepare and equip the visually handicapped for employment or general upgrading so that they could better integrate with the community.
Skills Training include:
- IT Skills
- Massage Training
- Art and Craft
IT skills
Computer literacy courses are conducted by a staff from SAVH who is assisted by volunteers to the visually handicapped clients generally on a one-to-one basis. Apart from learning the basic use of the computer, the clients also pick up skills and proficiency in using the Internet, Microsoft Office and social media. Massage Training
The Massage Training Programme at SAVH started in 1992. Massage techniques taught to the visually handicapped clients include:-
- Hand & Foot Reflexology
- Head and Shoulder Massage
- Full Body Massage without Oil
- Sports Massage
Massage training lessons are conducted by instructors from established International massage agencies. Upon successful completion of various courses with attainment of competency, the visually impaired clients are awarded Singapore Work Skills Qualification (WSQ) certification.
Art and Craft
Visually handicapped clients could join the Touch Art lessons to learn the skills in making handicraft items and art pieces, under the instructions of the qualified Art Instructors and assistance of volunteers.

SAVH also works with third-party employers who believe as we do in the ability of our visually impaired to be productive members of society and are willing to give them a chance at employment. We welcome all prospective employers to get in touch with us to explore the possibilities.
