Election Statement

Dear Members,

I am Hock Huan, a low-vision member in SAVH. I am currently, a research scientist in a local university, working on research in education. To me, education and training have brought me this far, and I believed it will do the same for both young and adult members of SAVH. Since first elected to the Exco in 2019, I have worked with dedicated Exco members, staff and volunteers to explore and promote awareness of literacy for the blind with projects such as the world Braille Day and StoryTel.

Moving forward, I hope to explore ways to support blind students in their education, and work with staff and respective sub-committee to expand services and training that will benefit and enhance the work and life opportunities of blind people. I believed that with proper training and support, any blind person can and will lead a successful life, and SAVH should and would make this difference with good and passionate Exco members and committed staff.

Great thanks for your previous support and I hope you would further provide me with the opportunity to serve on the Exco.

Stay safe and best wishes!
